It took my boyfriend THREE years to tell me he loved me. I knew I loved him about a year in but I was too afraid to say it just like you were. He acted like he loved me and was very affectionate and sweet but he never actually said it. I am his first serious girlfriend so I kind of chalked it up to that. I'd stopped

ok, again, I will redirect you to my comment where I said I get that the books contain rape and violence and thusly the show will as well. I get it. Promise. But that is not where my issue lies. As I said, it lies with how they film such scenes. Since this particular article focuses on that as it relates to women and

That's so similar to my first experience with brownies (which I posted about here.) They take a while to kick in and I didn't realize this so I had 2 very strong ones. BIG. MISTAKE.

Whenever I get too high I just get insanely paranoid and scared. Once I ate two apparently really strong brownies (I was unaware of their strength at the time, obvs) and spent the rest of the day in bed worried to fall asleep because I was sure my heart would stop beating and I'd die. Things also started looking big

Hmm ok. I feel like we read two very different articles if that's what you got out of this.

Ok, well I personally am not going to say any of the things you mentioned in your last paragraph so no worries. I understand what you are saying, but I think another key component that is mentioned in this piece but which seems to be left out of the comments is the constant portrayal of naked women (all with

YES. THIS. These are some of the main points I have made about this show in the past. And, honestly, it was that constant female-nudity-as-background-scenery that made me stop watching the show. That IN CONJUNCTION with Cersei's rape was just too much for me.

So, did we just miss the part where the author mentions how a show can portray rape and violence as long as it's done in a way which focuses on the person committing these atrocious acts and the dark psychology behind it and does not sexualize the victim? (i.e. zooming in on a trussed up, dead woman with ripped, tight

Here's an idea, let people critique things they find troubling or unnecessary in shows they might otherwise enjoy or find compelling. If you don't like their critiques, just don't read them! That's your logic after all, right?

A show can include sexual violence toward men and still be misogynistic. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

This perfectly articulates exactly my problem with this show and why I've stopped watching. Excellent points.

How QUIMSY of him!! He's probably on this app: "I pay for everything in quarters."

He's an ideal candidate for this. "My eyes are on my hands, and on the prize!" Quirky AND ambitious!

Omg! I loved the House on the Rock!! It was so cool and bizarre with so much to see.

And now, we drink.

Now playing

Sundowner is an act I recommend to people a lot. It's primarily Chris McCaughan's (of The Lawrence Arms) acoustic side act. I like acoustic acts as long as they aren't cheesy, lame, or boring. Sundowner is my kind of acoustic act.

omg...tied game... NOOOO. COME ONNNN, GUYSSS!

YAASSSSSSSSS. GO HAWKS!

Congratulations!! That is amazing! So happy for you.
