I find it funny that clothes this expensive clearly don't look that expensive or we wouldn't accept them as normal on these characters. Target looks at Barney's prices? Think I would choose Target looks at Target prices myself.

I don't understand why they wouldn't serve a person on horseback through the drive up window. As a teenager in Texas (several or more years ago) we actually did this many times. I wouldn't say it was the norm, but no one thought that much about it.
I cannot believe I am in a position to defend myself here. I have never, ever, ever confronted anyone with a placard (its the first thing I look for) and frankly if someone does confront someone that displays a placard it is supremely foolish. Your mother-in-law has done all the right things to get herself taken…
Truly I have no intention of judging or shaming anyone. I've been around people that just don't think it's a big deal to take those spaces...like your coworker. I'm disheartened that by me saying that I confront people that I'm apparently assumed to be an judgemental jerk by lots of responders. I assure you all that…
I'm not a heartless idiot. I only confront, and absolutely never yell, at someone that is obviously not in any way disabled. Like that guy dressed in gym clothes that pulls in to the Starbucks handicapped spot in his Porsche..."he'll just be a sec. He's not hurting anyone."
THIS! My Mom was wheelchair bound my whole life as well and I know the rage. We did go to Disneyworld with Mom in her chair in the late 80s. The Disney service for disabled guests is freaking fantastic. She got to experience the place, for the most part, the same way we did. And we got to share it WITH her. I…
I agree that this show is wonderful and not enough people are watching it, but I also put Treme in the same category. David Simon for heavens sake. Unfortunately, these kind of shows get found later, much like The Wire. Treme fate has been decided and will only has a few shows left in it's final season, but I would…
I'm 5'11" and wear heels a lot. I need pants with at least a 36" inseam and the "long" inseams at most stores never cut it. I've started ordering online from Long Tall Sally. Quality of fabrics etc. is not outstanding, but I love being able to order a 8 or 10 here because the proportions fit right. Frequently I…
I'm having a very Hemingway moment right now. Most of these are divine.
Thank you. Sometimes I really think I need to move. So embarrassingly stupid.
And I believe Taint Nuttin has shown his/her true colors. My overly sensitive self wishes the best to you and your father.
My mother has had chronic progressive MS for 42 years. Bedridden for the past 10 with little knowledge of what is happening around her, she isn't quite sure who I am anymore, but she does have a very happy demeanor and will forever be my hero in life. You are lucky your father has a sense of humor, but I can't say I…
This long time Today Show watcher couldn't stomach Palin so I watched GMA this morning. Nancy Grace made me turn the TV off entirely. Pre coffee, I really wanted to throw something at the television.
So very true. I am grateful for her and my patient and kind father every single day!
Oh, Damn. As the daughter of a wonderful mom who I barely remember walking because of her MS, this just made me tear up in my office. I wholeheartedly agree with everything she said. I must be an affliction of kids of parents like ours...I have a hard time ever talking about my Mom without tearing up because I have…
New Orleans has always been a great place for celebrities since, for the most part, people just don't care. I hate seeing paparazzi pictures taken there. Makes me sad.
I don't believe I said that at all, but interpret as you wish. I'm just not sure assigning generalizations to any group of people based on the color of their skin is helpful in any discourse.
Yes, we know that the Academy doesn't represent the general public demographics and we know that they love patting themselves on the back. But the inclusion that patting themselves on the back for not being racist is the national sport of white people in general is taking it a bit too far.
And this is why I de-pledged a sorority after about a week (and it was NOTHING as horrific as this). These are not mandatory groups. Joining a fraternity or sorority is completely voluntary. I believe the issue is that these young men do not have the will to say no to their parents or whomever is encouraging them…
Speaking from experience, I can say that as a career minded woman who was fairly convinced that I could do just about anything I set my mind to, I was looking for stories of older women who became pregnant to justify my decisions. I claimed for way too long that I had time. Hell, I even had my gyno tell me at 37…
