Being the exact same age as Brooke Shields and watching how the media treated her was my norm. It set my expectations for how a young woman was treated for a very long time and made me put up with way too much in my younger days.

Thank you. I agree.

I think you are correct. The temp in Dallas this weekend is over 100 degrees with heat indexes of over 105. Really close, I think. I hope they are all miserable and the power grid shuts down the A/C at the Anatole.

And this is why I drive around with a “Beto for Texas” sticker on my car in Dallas and routinely get the bird from my “neighbors.” My southern politeness hates incivility, but damn, he is right and I am glad he has the guts to speak out to the horrible humans sitting on that stage. My fellow Texans just chose that

Everyone remained graceful, generous, and crazy talented last night. By all means, we should be insulting it. Not “edgy” enough. We live in a Real Housewives world that now thinks bad behavior is the only interesting behavior. I haven’t watched the Grammy’s for years, but weirdly tuned in for some of it last night and

Ha! I meant no insult to pigs, sorry. He is the worst!

No #METOO moment”, yet she tells the story of a cheerleader who quit the squad rather than be the personal DCC uniformed plaything accompanying Jerry Jones and his fellow businessmen on a personal jet. (He is well known in Dallas as a complete pig.) She went to the the DCC management (the ones you know from that

As a former college dancer for men’s sports (I just could not talk myself into attempting NFL) I really enjoyed your take on this. The comradery is amazing, but sometimes you wonder if we don’t just bond over the ridiculousness of the situations sometimes. Not sure if you have heard this, but Texas Monthly just did a

The entire world of cheerleading is so confusing to me. They are amazing athletes who work insanely hard and risk crazy injuries to do the stunts they do, but they insist on putting those moronic giant bows on all the women’s heads so they look like 5 year olds. Do they want respect or not? Reducing these powerful

Thank you for summing up my feelings of late. If all the writers do is complain; at least stick to stuff that matters.

I hear you and clearly see where this is far from perfect. As a native Texan I truly just try hard to cling to any sense that my fellow Texans are not all awful. I respect your opinion on this.

Can we not just let this be a good story? Getting judgemental about the choice of charity receiving the customers’ goodwill seems petty.

Please make this gif go away.  I’ve avoided this page since it showed up.

Congratulations on your escape. I truly hope that the family that you left behind are safe and warm.

You are correct that the problem is very old and should have been taken care of years ago. What you point out is just additional stupidity.  I can’t say that your request that we just go away exactly warms the cockles of my heart, but if you want to throw all Texans into the same bucket even while this Texan is

As a person living in a suburb of Dallas with no power since early Monday morning, being asked to significantly reduce use of natural gas and now water, I don’t have enough bad words for this idiot and those in our backwards ass republican administration. I truly would be better off if I was off the grid on a

I love Bishop Briggs and her music, but this video is unwatchable. Am I the only one that thinks that it makes her look like she is running in place in front of a green screen that is moving way to slow for her pace? It’s driving me nuts!

Love these!  From Rough Linen?

May I suggest Haim speak to The Dixie Chicks? The Chicks need your thought process on new music right now! And this is quite fun.

This almost brought be to tears reading this. I adored this book as a child and knowing the trauma of the book, I never watched the 1994 movie even though I was already an adult at the time. This was beautifully written and reminds me of why, as beautiful as this book is, I would never read this book again.
