Wait. What? Where did you deduct this one from? Complaint about an underwhelming, disappointing, ridiculous ending =/= wanting a happy ending.

I literally came in here to check to see if FF8 got ignored, as it usually does, and I see this as the top comment. This just made my night.

Yep, Hands down, nothing come's close to FFVIII

I also feel that VIII was his most cohesive, and best work. X was good, too, but VIII is where he peaked. Nothing since VIII has come close.

I don't know why I didn't put this in with my list. Completely agree. Amazing opening, and my favorite Final Fantasy.

Now playing

My all time favorite opening is Xenogears.

Lol true, they're all pretty incredible. However, which X intro are you referring to? Because the part with the blitzball and Sin? Well, I can't rightfully consider that the intro. The intro is the super boring scene where Tidus keeps telling you to listen to him, and they're all just being boring, staring at a fire.

One post in and I'm done. Don't need to go any further. FF8 was my first RPG so there isn't a single piece of that game that doesn't evoke strong feelings for me, but the intro is on a whole other level.

I agree, and it's the most underrated game in the series (I think it's better than VII).

I agree with that. I remember spending countless hours in the Arcades playing 1994-1998 KoF games. KoF 99 was the beginning of the disaster. XIII was good though.

>3D

R.I.P KoF: 1994 - 1998.

Also, the name isn't that ridiculous. Far less so than most of the other components out there.

-ASUS Republic of Gamers is the brand
-Formula Z97 is the socket (part of the "and whatever it's a motherboard" details.)

We are left with Maximus VII as the name. *GASP* ridiculous.

My favorite part: "and whatever it's a motherboard"

That pretty much sums up the PC expertise on Kotaku.

Because there's not even any -news- coming out of this con! If at Bronycon, Hasbro announced a new spinoff show, or a movie, or a new game, then sure, cover that. But 2 articles about the contents of a small convention's dealer's room? I sure hope we get a play-by-play of all the stuff you can buy at next weekend's

E3 is an industry expo where the big gaming companies make announcements. Bronycon has an attendance of 8,000 people only, and nothing gets announced there. Nowhere close to the same league. Unless Kotaku wants to start covering every paltry local convention in cities across the country.

Maybe it's trying to emulate shitty 1930s craftmanship.

This is what happens when you don't listen to TJ Laser!
