Well, this isn't the only reason, but a big one is that a lot of people don't account for a frame, and as a result some of the photo ends up covered when they put it in a frame.
I don't think the current iteration of Siri has Google quaking in their boots, and it shouldn't. I just know there's a lot of things that the software is capable of that we aren't seeing yet, and I'm also assuming it's because Apple is working on the extensibility of those features.

Siri uses whatever you've set to your default search engine. That could also be Bing or Yahoo. Of course, for many answers, it uses WolframAlpha, your weather app, Apple's movie app, the stocks app, and could be extensible in the future.
I dunno. I've had a TuneCast since 2007, and it's still going strong.
