Airplane mode and a Bluetooth keyboard. I'm 4,000 words in and don't regret using it instead of my MBP. I think I'd be more tempted if I didn't have to jump out of my writing app each time I wanted to distract myself.
this is my first NaNoWriMo, and I'm really enjoying myself. I'd highly recommend it. Of course, my tune may change when I have two days left and ten thousand words to write. ;)
I bought my iPad for a number of reasons. Weight, battery life, size, built in 3G internet, the App ecosystem, not having to take it out at security when I fly, not having my nuts scorched when I read on it while sitting on the couch/in bed.
I watch 5 shows regularly (that aren't on Netflix) and sports. My total cable bill was $120 a month because I also had all the major sports packages and I lived in an area with one provider. The five shows I regularly watch were almost garunteed purchases on DVD (or BluRay). Cable alone came out to well over a…
If you have a wireless HDMI system for your computer, the only benefit an Apple TV would provide (I can't speak for the Google TV, I don't have one) is the UI. I used an HTPC setup for years, and aside from XBMC and Plex, there wasn't really anything that seemed to offer the clean UI and simplicity that the Apple TV…
Thank you. :)
Hahaha, "desperate and stupid". Such a sad and unfortunately true description of a large swath of the population.
Very true. Though it begs the question. With all the free pornography that doesn't need a password, why would anyone view pornography that does require it?
Yeah, yeah, but Europe is also a magical land where unicorns and dragons and hobbits exist. Everyone wears swords and speaks in medieval english. I've seen the movies.
@Fightmare
A Trojan and a virus are two different things. Trojans require people to install software and enter their password. A virus doesn't require user interaction. It may seem like a technicality, but it's a fairly substantial difference.
A Trojan is not a virus. Trojans are malware and require a user to go through an install process and to enter their password.
Apple's monopoly? What monopoly would that be exactly?
Um... You don't have to connect any iOS 5 device to a computer. Ever.
I must be getting lucky. I've never been charged for ethernet. I'd kind of assumed it was because the hotels had assumed that no one was even using them. Maybe I'm just getting lucky.
Well, I'm not saying they outsell PCs, I'm just saying that the growth has outpaced. I understand what your saying, though. There are plenty of reasons people would want a netbook over an iPad.
Hahaha. That's the heart of entrepreneurship right there.
Except that the netbooks are seeing a decline in sales. Macs have outpaced the growth of the PC industry for the last 21 quarters. Is something dead if it continues to grow?
