Indeed - it’s like whoever made this movie never saw “Mars Attacks!”

“A Quiet Place” is actually pretty dumb, but the preview of “Hereditary” looked really good.
“No god damn way is that rational” = hence the joke I was making
1992 movies I enjoyed include:
So they pass the savings along to us!
If you were a tree, why do bad things happen to good people?
Cool, thanks!

I think that’s the one where they photoshopped (or CGI’d or whatever) her neck to make it obnoxiously long. No idea what the motive was - her neck (and face and everything else about her) looks fine to me
The regular/recurring cast is terrific, but I also like how this season gives great actors who aren’t necessarily “big stars” chances to shine in 1 or 2 episodes, e.g., Judith Light, Joanna Adler, and now Jon Jon Briones. It can’t be easy to give a performance that’s simultaneously funny and creepy and scary and sad -…
Basketball? People actually still watch that?
What’s there to write about? It’s just a bunch of people bouncing a ball around.
I read an interview in which Tom Hardy said he modeled his Brooklyn accent in “The Drop” after Sean Penn’s accent in “We’re No Angels”.
Either that or he just burned one

I can’t remember where I read that Peter Graves story - I thought it was here:
That’s probably my favorite casting story - I’m surely getting the details wrong but the basic idea is:

I’ve got both of those in 2nd tier Coen Brothers but I could see the argument for top tier in both cases. It’s less of an indictment of those than a statement of how much I liked Fink, Miller’s and Lebowski.
I didn’t call it second rate. “Second RATE” is commonly held to mean “not good”... When I say “second TIER” in the case of the Coen Brothers that means it’s great. Top tier = Barton Fink, Miller’s Crossing, The Big Lebowski, and then “A Serious Man” is in the next group, which is an elite group to be in.
