Doesn’t the Jeep have a detent/lock you have to override to get into 4 Low?  The only 4wd vehicle with a manual t-case I’ve owned was an F-150, but to go from neutral to 4 low in the transfer case, you had to push down the lever before it would slide into 4 Low.  No way to accidentally do that.

It is relative, but in the grand scheme of things, Porsche are cheap compared to true exotics. It won’t be as cheap as my 06 Mustang GT I had, but a 911 Turbo won’t break your bank account like a Ferrari F355.

He just said that any part that comes in an A-M box will be 2 to 4 times as expensive. Lots of parts are the same as other brands, but the cross reference database isn’t there for the average guy to find them on Amazon.  It reminds me of a story I saw years ago about a guy rebuilding an early 90's Lambo Diablo.  The

I don’t know, my friend says that even basic stuff like pads and rotors will be over 4 figures just for the parts on an Aston. And if you do have major drivetrain issues, might as well just LS swap it lol  Besides, if I were to go A-M, it’d have to be a DB9, not a V8 Vantage.  God do I love that car.

I could afford to buy it, but I can’t afford to own it. I seriously am in the market in this price range, just going to get a 911. The cost of ownership on a 911 is miniscule compared to a Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Lamborghini. I really considered a DB9, but got talked out of that by my mechanic buddy who runs a high

The risk aversion is a big one. Personally, I’m not risk averse. I put over 10k miles on a street bike in my 20's doing dumb 20 something shit. All of my close calls were self inflicted. But my wife on the other hand is absolutely dead set against me getting another street bike because of a couple deaths and serious

Mine that got away is one I owned. Fresh out of college I bought a new 98 F-150, 2wd regular cab, short bed, base V-6 and manual trans with the XLT package so it had power windows, doors, and AC. I kept it 9 years and put almost 160K miles on it. I loved that truck. It was fun to drive with the manual, especially in

I get what you’re saying about your driving style, I call it driving with a purpose. Use more than 10% of your throttle and brakes. Or if I’m feeling a bit crass I’ll say “someone has to play offense since everyone else is playing defense” My hobby is racing dirtbikes, I understand line selection, braking points,

In almost 2 years of ownership and over 30K miles, the AEB has never kicked on. Either you’re driving way more aggressively than me or the vehicle you experienced it in was way more sensitive. I get that I don’t live in a traffic hell like SoCal, but my commute is from the suburbs to downtown Columbus, OH so I do deal

With my truck (2016 F-150), if you hit the gas, it overrides the system pretty quickly then when you let off the gas, it kicks back in. Or I’ll hit the cancel/resume button which is an easy to find button on the steering wheel. It was a bit of a learning curve to learn the quirks of the system, but I’m used to it now

For sure. I’m not treating it as an auto pilot. My truck also has lane keeping assist and that shit sucks balls.

Let me get my admission that I’m spoiled out of the way, but adaptive cruise control. Both my truck and my wife’s car have it and I recently ordered a new vehicle and that was the 1 must have option. It takes so much frustration out of highway driving, just set your max speed and let the sensors keep your safe

Uhh, no. The Rotax was the cheaper option, by several hundred dollars, which would have let Buell build the rest of the bike to a higher standard and still meet the targeted MSRP.  The whole point of my comment and several articles that my comment was based on is the H-D forced the more expensive, less effective

If Harley had let Erik build the Blast with the Rotax 650 it was designed around, things would have been much different. It was lighter, more powerful, and according to the post mortem reports, a lot cheaper than what H-D charged Buell for the single cylinder Sportster based engine that was forced into that bike. The replies to truck threads always crack me up. You can tell who are the homeowners who own/have owned a truck vs. everyone else. It’s easy to say “rent a truck” or “rent a trailer” when you live in an apartment and have never owned a truck. Say I need to get 10 bags of mulch when the weather breaks and my wife

Thank you for the well thought out reply. Like I said above, I have questions, not answers. If 500 years is the appropriate design criteria for something like a power grid, then that’s what they need to be designed for.

Here’s the question I have. Where does this weather event fall in regards to frequency? Is this a once every 50 years, 100 years, 500 years, etc.. event? What were the design criteria for the power grid, 50, 100, 500 or more? If the grid is designed for a 100 year event and this was a 500 year event, the most cost

I’m going to parrot most other commenters and say 300 miles is the magic number for a primary vehicle, and by 300 miles, I mean at highway speeds, not some optimized low speed “hyper mileing” type of condition. As an American, I love me a good road trip and if I can’t go 4 hours between stops and the stops are longer

That’s interesting.  I’ve always likes something other than black and silver, if other people are feeling the same way, that hopefully means more are being ordered that way too, so more used options down the road.
