We adopted a Chinese orphan over 10 years ago and all of sudden, we're getting mail from the orphanage. My husband is convinced it's setting off some sort of computer chip they implanted before letting her leave the country.
It’s about what you want it to be and depends on whether you’re THE leader or a co-leader (I’m a co-leader). At a minimum, you attend a couple of scout meetings per month (ours are 1.5 hours long) and help the main leader. Over the years, I’ve taken on more meetings on my own but that still only means I spend a couple…
Girl Scout leader here - it really and truly is an awesome organization. Its commitment to STEM topics and its dedication to remain relevant to all girls ensures our daughters spend the year learning how to become strong, smart, independent girls/women. From the GS Law: "Respect myself and others . . . and be a sister…
50 Shades of Dad! A ringer for Jamie Dornan.
The paperwork was no doubt signed right after the ceremony.
He hopes! It's likely he'll enjoy his embarrassment from his crappy divorced-guy apartment.
She’s lovely and he’s hardly more evolved than primordial ooze. Team Courthouse Wedding here.
I won! I won!
My BFF has a phrase for that - she says it’s like being Mama Dog and having your pup crawl all over your body, occasionally stopping to nurse. I’m so sorry I told you that!
I think he's no more than 5'5", possibly 5'4".
I'm going to say Kit Harrington is knee-high to a grasshopper.
I love a happy ending. I had a law school professor who described Chinese adoption as "genocide." You really do have to learn to ignore people.
RIGHT??? WTF! We have older Chinese friends who are always telling my daughter how grateful she should be to get out of China. While we were in China, women (never men) would approach us and say "lucky girl!" over and over. I can't possibly know what it is like to be a woman in China, but I never want my daughter to…
Knowing yourself is much of the battle, so to speak. If you say that, then I think you are doing the best thing for you. I wish you all the things you want/need in this world. ♥
Yeah, there's no reason an adoptive child should ever be told he/she should be grateful and no kid should have to give a shit about a parent who abused them. *I* am the one who is grateful; my daughter is just my daughter and however she feels about adoption is the way she should feel about adoption. All I do is try…
You are the first adopted kid I’ve heard say that. I’m truly sorry your experience was so bad. My own daughter won’t hear of having her own kids; she will adopt or bust, she says. Maybe she’ll change her mind, but I think a lot of it is how adoption is treated by the adoptive parents, what the relationship between…
Have you adopted? Because I have and you are so, so wrong.
Right? I have two siblings and our house was World War III. My poor mom. She should have drowned us all.
And you know what? If you had adopted, you would have done that the wrong way, too. I can't tell you how many people have criticized my Chinese daughter's adoption. So many comments from people who know nothing or less than nothing.
