Reminds me of the time Stephan Peterhansel shook down an R1 on the dunes in Morocco.

I don’t know anything about this other than the description says “gutted Miata on snow tires” but it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

That was strange that the rod suddenly retracted. I assume there was some kind of internal failure but it went down faster than just collapsing and falling due to gravity. It’s like it got sucked in.

The chicken tax is only subject to "commercial" vehicles. If a vehicle is designed to be used to transport passengers it is not subject to the tax. If it has seats and seatbelts, it is a passenger vehicle. In fact, the tax originally took effect in the 1960s and was created in big part to target the VW type 2. At the

The chicken tax doesn’t apply to things that have seats in the back. That is why Ford was importing the Transit Connect with full interiors then gutting them after they arrived.

Good job guys. Someone call it in. Maybe we can buy Gawker with the reward.

It looks to be quite popular in Europe. They have what looks like a well organized tractor pulling association with events in multiple European countries.

Since we’re posting things completely different, but still angry - how about a John Deere with a Detroit Diesel 2 stroke V12. Very angry.

Is this that F150 Ferrari?

That may not be too far off. Supposedly the economic collapse in 2008 scrapped an updated Titan that was due. Then there was talk of Nissan rebadging Rams to sell as Titans. It does make you wonder if the new Titan wasn't rooted in one of those nearly decade old ideas.

I’d agree they are not bad looking cars, but I feel like if I really wanted one of them, I could find a nicer one for that money. If you do buy one, the first order of business is to yank the boat anchor and all Rube Goldberg-esque emission equipment and drop in a decently built replacement small block. Even a well

Reminds me of the Carbon Motors vapor-ware.

Seriously. I mean, how could they not use Yakity Sax for this.

I prefer a snow blower for those kind of bulk tasks. It eliminates the need to pour and refill.

Not arguing one way or the other, just fact checking the aluminum part.

The 2.7 in the F150 is CGI (compacted graphite iron - high tech cast iron). I am pretty sure Ford isn’t casting an aluminum version for this.

Yeah, I don’t think this is really going to be too functional. It really needs 2-3” of lift on it to allow some room for the tires to move plus it would look better.

It would have had a much better legacy if it would have had the supercharged 3800 V6. Being small-ish, it would have been a good performer by the standards of the time. I don’t think the s/c engine was around yet though.

I’m glad you clarified this was not a “fuckup” in your third paragraph. When I read the second paragraph and saw that, I actually said out loud, “this isn’t a fuckup!”
