Much like Maserati, Cadillac has not yet figured out that you can make a car with sharp looks, a world class suspension and a great sounding engine (debatable in Cadillac’s case) but if you cut corners in the interior your customers will notice.

Pretty much this right here. Cars keep getting larger, sometimes significantly so, than past models. After a while they really just overlap too much with one another, and the winner will usually be the car with the better value.
