I can only speak for myself, but I just didn't feel like myself when I was fat. I was a pretty skinny kid/teenager growing up, but gained -alot- of weight in my early 20s. It felt like it wasn't even my body anymore, just some lump of flesh I was forced to drag everywhere I went. I couldn't do the things with it

If this woman is proud of what she did, who are you to tell her not to be?

Wow. I've seen all kinds of victim blaming in my life, but this is an extraordinary glimpse into the thought processes of someone who cannot imagine holding a rapist responsible for the acts he conceives of with his mind, executes with his body, and then escapes punishment for with the complicity of society.

it's racist because a) ghetto is never used in reference to poor white people, b) race and class are often conflated in the u.s. because while a majority of the poor population is white, it's disproportionately black (if you compare it to the % of black people in the country vs whites), c) the politicization around

He couldn't last a few months when his victims endured years. Coward til the end. Kick rocks, Ariel.

Yep, she's real empowered.

As a part-time associate at JCP, I also feel uncomfortable pointing out the "women's" section unless asked specifically. If I'm answering a vague question about clothing, I just point out the women's, misses, and petite sections, just to cover all my bases.

In the book, the main character has had grotesque plastic surgery to make her look like an almost cartoonish version of a perfect female. But she can only barely pass as human and has to go to lengths to manage that.

Hopefully, even my old posts aren't appearing there, but they are on Jezebel, which I think is what happens when you get blocked on only one blog. Kindof at a loss as to what caused it though. Oh well.

DEFINITELY read that as "difficult to butthole."

Can anyone tell me if you need posting privileges to reply to posts on Groupthink? I know I can't create my own posts, but my replies to existing ones aren't even showing up now. Or maybe I've been banned from Groupthink, is there a way to tell?

Yeah, but, bunnies jump, it's what they do, and this is less time spent in their cage, no?

Sales people can be ridiculous. My mom used to have to call the manager on salesgirls who felt comfortable saying that the item she was asking for was too expensive for her. "Do you have X?" "Yes, but it is really expensive." B/c you know, we are black, and we are all poor.

You seriously think that a teenage girl is going to "[twist] reality and words" in a public declaration that someone told her she was too fat to shop in their store and leave, for what? The fun of being known to her schoolmates as the fat girl who was asked to leave Rue 21? I mean really, really?

Your original comment just screamed basic, so I just assumed that you liked that BOGO shit.

Right, because asking a sales person for a size and finding out they don't carry it is the same as having someone make unsolicited comments about your weight and being asked to leave the store.

Oh man my sister has been practically marathoning this show today and I am secretly getting into it.

Pumpkin everything is a must for me every fall! But yes, pumpkin beer can be super awesome. I highly recommend Southern Tier Pumpking, Whole Hog Pumpkin, Saranac Pumpkin, and Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale.

God yes it's just so heartbreaking. I want to make anyone who claims racism isn't a big deal anymore to sit down and watch that bit over and over.

THANK YOU. That's been bugging me.
