And what a lot of commenters, including the ones making rather disturbing comments about beating them with bars of soap, haven’t seemed to have put together is it’s likely a dork who’s also a dumb kid. Destroyer2009? This is probably a 15 year old, of course they don’t know any better.

They even made the menus worse... Like how!? How of all things do you make the interface worse! At least I could see the rationale behind some of the other changes even if the execution was shitty. But changing the UI just seemed to be making it different for the sake of making it different.

Oh. I briefly hoped they'd dropped 5v5 and went back to 6v6. Still if they're at the stage of backtracking unpopular decisions there's hope yet.

Yes, but saying “we just wanted to charge you more money for the same content (only worse)“ isn’t exactly good PR. Which is why they used the excuse of PvE. But now they don’t even have that.

Neither did I. But it was their excuse for making Overwatch 2 so how are they justifying that now?

I can see why the Devs were confused when the executives were asking if it was “Blizzard quality”. They were actually asking if it was shit enough. Blizzard can’t ship anything that isn’t a dumpster fire these days and obviously the PvE was just too good to release.

But but but.... mah funny internet videos! How DARE I have to go to blergh Instagram... or *gag* YouTube shorts. Surely a little Chinese foothold is worth it for some light entertainment right?

Why can’t we have multiplayer games... that aren’t live service games. They existed before. But now everything has to be monetizable forever. It’s just annoying.

I mean yes. Which is why I don’t know why it gets credit. The combat systems are rarely stellar in FF games and XIIIs doesn't really do anything particularly better than any other game. And it's worse in some ways because you can't control your other characters so even when it does throw some actually challenging

I didn’t realise this was just a reposted article. And now I realise I made pretty much the exact same comment a year ago. Only less in depth about what trash it is.

I knew before I went through the slideshow that XIII and its ilk would be too damn high. There’s too many people who like it for inexplicable reasons despite how bad it is.

It’s kind of incredible the Spiderverse movies are as amazing as they are considering they're coming from the same company that brought us Morbius and Madame Web.

That would require they leave their parents basement and possibly pass within 12ft of a woman who isn’t their mother. So it’s never going to happen.

But... But... Go woke go broke!

No where in the article do they "admit to it" and you have reading comprehension issues if that's your takeaway.

Live service games are essentially just MMOs minus an M.

I don’t understand why this has come as a surprise to the industry. Live service games aren’t fundamentally different from MMOs. They’re just kinda missing one of the Ms. You’d have thought they’d have learned their lesson from the time when everyone was trying to make an MMO and make a WoW killer that the a large

I mean all the models I’ve seen suggested for NFTs in gaming just can’t feasibly exist. That what they’re peddling doesn’t work has never really seemed to be a barrier for these people. They’ll slam their heads against those walls as if they weren’t there and then wonder why nothing has changed except for the fact

It’s been very clear talking to every crypto simp that’s tried to argue for their “usefulness” in gaming that they don’t understand the point of a game. It’s not a job, it’s not an investment vehicle, it’s entertainment.

But but but! When the game inevitably dies you’ll totally be able to take your NFT into another game and so it’ll still have value. RIGHT!? RIGHT!?
