Fine. Earthbound and Mother 3 are incredible games by a wonderfully talented writer. He’s accomplished everything he’s wanted to in the series and we should all appreciate that.

Thanks for clearing that up. I mentioned above, there was a Japanese horror game called Laplace no Ma (Laplace’s Demon), but it had nothing to do with the thought experiment and was instead about fighting demons. I’ll have to give this show a look, warts and all.

I get the Ranpo references; ero-guro nansensu and the presence of Akechi Kogoro, but what does Pierre-Simon Laplace have to do with it? Did they just senselessly name-drop him to sound profound, like the horror game Laplace no Ma?
