Obviously I do not like the guy one bit, but I highly doubt he will suffer anything ill from this latest rectal/cranium infusion.

I agree that Brian France is a silver spooned moron who got his job merely because he came out of the right vagina.

But he has a whole team of highly paid lawyers and has survived many similar storms, including lying to everyone about why Dale Sr died. (it did cost him a boatload of money, but in the public’s eye he

Why do you say that?

Is it because I just compared NASCAR to professional wrestling? I am not the only one with that opinion, in fact I think that I might be one of the last to come to that conclusion. I enjoy almost all forms of motorsports, but things like Lucky Dog, Season Champions who only compete in 2/3 of the

Don’t let your feelings for Mr Stewart cloud your judgment and the facts. The kid ran TOWARDS the right side of a dirt track winged sprint car on a poorly lit banked track. Between the wing dipping down in full forward position, the helmet full of tear offs and the full containment seat, there is no way he could have

NASCAR has nothing to do with Kevin Ward Jr commiting suicide by trying to tackle Tony’s moving sprint car on the dirt track in upstate NY.

Maybe so, but Brian France and NASCAR do not care about things like that. I promise that if Tony were to press a lawsuit like that (and he won’t, he is old school enough) then him and his teams would not be very welcome in the garage area. Brian France would make sure of that.

he certainly has seen enough of them in the last few years.

And Tony is only retiring from driving in NASCAR. (aka”Motor Vehicle Based Entertainment”) He plans on returning to the cockpit of his sprint cars, midgets, modifieds, etc. (aka “Real Race Cars”) after a 2+ year hiatus.

Why? Because some stoned kid decided to commit suicide by trying to tackle Tony’s moving racecar? Because that is what happened. don’t hold Kevin Ward Jr’s stupid decisions against Tony....it affected him far more than anyone realizes.

I suspect that the one center nut concept is more secure because there is more contact area on the mating surfaces to provide the necessary friction.

I get it now, if you heat ONLY the metal around the hole, the hole gets smaller, if you heat the entire object the hole gets larger because the metal expands outward.

But the hole you are trying to expand is not being heated. The metal expands into the space once occupied by air.

See the other explanation about heating the entire object vs just the area around the hole, that explains it better than I can.

A good explanation, local vs global heat if you will. Thanks

Gotcha, it did not look the like ring was in the flame at the beginning of the video.

thanks

The video shows the ball being heated up but not the ring. Do you have video of the ring only being heated?

I suppose the science is a little different when trying to remove stuck bolts, the freeze/freeze method works great for me.

If I don’t have a can of Freeze Off around, usually a computer air duster turned upside down while spraying can get everything cold enough.

I did use a blow torch to remove a stuck caliper bolt

I always thought you were supposed to freeze the bearing (or whatever you are trying to press fit) AND the metal around the hole you are trying to press it into.

The reasoning is that the metal shrinks and the hole gets slightly bigger. It seems to me that heating the metal around the hole would make the hole smaller.

Combine demo derbies are also bad ass, a quick YouTube search indicates that it is much more common than I thought.

I would definitely pay to see either of the above, I do like the spirit of the motorcycle demo costumes though. These guys might not be wired right in the head, but they sure are entertaining!

Now playing

I disagree, we are capable extremely bad ass demo derbies in the US.

No mention of the University of Nebraska (Dr Sicking’s employer) and their efforts to develop and test the SAFER Barrier?
