I watched the video without audio. It’s very hard not to superimpose the voices of Cole Trickle and Harry Hogge into the video.

I think Sam was motivated in that moment by really wanting Dany not to be queen on account of how she burninated his brother. So he kind of fixated on the idea that Jon was the rightful king which is not necessarily the most useful argument, as pointed out.
