Just for clarification, Porsche, Audi, and Toyota also have Michelin tires made only for their respective cars. They are the same brand, yes, but the tire compound and construction is bespoke among the manufacturers.

It’s Europe and the Nurburgring. They tend to use a little more common sense and allow some leeway with the drivers when something goes wrong.

If a car can’t make it back to pit lane under its own power, it gets dragged to the nearest access point and the driver is left to wait on his crew to make it to where the car is.

This is the issue I have. It’s not like the guy went against the rules of the event or anything.

The guy was doing nothing wrong. It’s what he was supposed to do. I guess you can call losing control of a car doing something wrong, but following directions given to him by someone else isn’t doing anything wrong. That’s on the event organizer.

The guy wasn’t going the wrong way around the circuit, but clockwise. The headline makes it seem as if he was doing something wrong.
