One more year. Just one more year.
One more year. Just one more year.
This is the first pole for a car that isn't a DP since 2002 when this Dallara-Judd won the race from the pole:
There is a Porsche Cup class in Pirelli World Challenge. They run with the GT3 cars. It's new for this year. They run the same cars as the two (US and Canadian) IMSA Cup series.
No, don't EVER put on your hazard lights while driving down the road. This eliminates the ability for people to see your indicators, or even your brake lights if you're driving an American car (most likely). It's such a terrible idea and I hate it when people do that.
Also, I'm just glad we can get the IMSA feed for international viewers. God bless those enterprising individuals that strip the video element.
My tweet at that point: "Good to see FOX Sports is on form in 2015. They've been in break for most of the exciting parts of this Formula E race."
NASCAR wants nothing to do with FIA. That's why ACCUS was created. It's not a surprise that no NASCAR series are mentioned.
The hell you say!
Cars built to the same regulations are going to look similar. That's what regulations do, for the most part:
The BMW and Porsche use only one air restrictor. The rest use two. This is why the numbers seem to be so skewed towards the Porsche and BMW.
GT3 cars have larger wings and splitters. GTD cars also remove TC and ABS.
Dodge pulling out of sportscar racing. Goodbye GTE Viper.
The Acura NSX once again failing to exist. "NEXT YEAR!" they say!
Because the engine and chassis in the open cockpit HPD is much better than the Lolas and the DPs are Gen2s that would need hundreds of thousands of dollars in upgrades to be eligible to compete.
To number 3: Yes. The radiator. It's pretty much the same in a Daytona Prototype today. That's right. 30 years of absolutely no progress in safety for that car.
Is a car that never raced considered vintage? That Aston-powered DP never made it to the track. Would have been cool though.
In the comments he states he's running it in SVRA - vintage racing. The Robertsons (who built the car in a "shed" at Road Atlanta) ran the car at the 2011 Petit Le Mans, then turned around in 2012 and raced it in historics. It wouldn't stand a chance against even GTD cars at this point.
GTE regs allow turbos/superchargers on engines up to 4.0 liters in displacement.
Also, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was written by Ian Fleming. Yes, that Ian Fleming.
Recess!
