But like don't.

groundbreaking genre smash? we must’ve been watching a different cut of the movie then. also it totally degenerated into some weird CG on CG schlock in the last quarter and totally fell apart on me. that PS3 looking train track fight ? what a mess.

As a poor person, I am disturbed by the prospect that, should I become rich sometime in the future, I may lose 70 percent of that wealth, and thereby become merely well-off.

You Were Never Really Here should be up there. Quite comfortably one of 2018's best.

Black Panther was, at its highest, the 3rd best superhero movie last year and I could argue Ant-Man & the Wasp was even better. It was still a good film, but it does not deserve Best Picture, especially over Infinity War or Spider-Verse.

The Florida Project is my favorite movie of at least the last decade.

Are you trying to make this a race thing? Jesus dude. The Dark Knight was groundbreaking. Black Panther was good, it wasn’t great. Beale Street was GREAT and got snubbed.

Dafoe’s Oscar should have FOR THE FLORIDA PROJECT, WE TOTALLY FUCKED UP THERE carved into the base.

Incredibles 2 has some great parts, particularly the train sequence, but Spider-Verse has equally good action and better (and more unique) animation overall. Really surprised how good that turned out to be.

Black Panther 100% deserves every one of those technical nominations, but Best Picture? Get the fuck out of here.

Feels like such a lackluster list after last year. I mean, Green Book, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Black Panther? I don’t see how any of them are contenders for best picture in a sane world. It’s not like it was a bad year, they could have thrown a bone to Eighth Grade, or I hear First Reformed is good, but instead they’re

That skit was a searing critique of the absurdity of that entire screwed up RK situation and of RK himself. Chappelle highlighted that situation using the tools that he is a master of, namely, comedy.

I think the sketch also alerted a lot of people who didn’t know about any of the fucked up shit R Kelly was into. I remember explaining to people that there was literally a video on the internet of R Kelly peeing on an underage girl with a Space Jam mural in the background.

No, I remember Chappelle and Brennan’s writing in the sketch exactly the way he explained it. Dave’s joking intro and outro was kinda like, “ None of us can believe Kelly is so flagrant yet hasn’t been caught up!”
