First, before I say anything, this guy was a good samaritan, and I fucking hate it when good guys have bad things happen to them. Nothing I am about to say should negate the fact that:
1. This dude was awesome

I think this is an important point, and it's unfortunate that men bring it up so infrequently rather than behaving as if there is nothing wrong with the catcalling itself. It is true that a man interceding on a woman's behalf with strangers even verbally risks violence. Admitting that is productive, but too few men do

I woman your woman. Let's woman and woman. Woman you around woman o'clock.

I ate four Butterfingers today. Not those pathetic little "fun size" ones either. The two-piece "share packs."

The patriarchy isn't really that good for men, either.

And men wonder why we 'don't just stand up for ourselves'

This is precisely why women are scared of standing up for themselves when being cat called. Not only can harassers go ballistic like this, but they also, usually, cowardly "travel" in large packs.

This kinda says everything about the real motivation behind a lot of catcalling, huh?

Ethnicity is a social construct that has a correspondence with something real: language, cultural traditions, etc. Race is a social construct that has no correspondence with anything real. Race literally means nothing, it doesn't exist. I think it's very healthy to put that word out of circulation.

It's time we fucking got serious about depression and the philosophies and techniques we use to "treat" it. What we're doing is not working (pharmacology and psychological talk therapy). The crap we're going to hear (sorry, I feel strongly about this) about how he was sad despite making people happy is another example

Awful, terrble news. He struggled with depression & addiction for years. More proof that mental illness does not discriminate. He had the world's adoration, a loving family & resources far beyond what the average person has and still lost the battle. I hope that someday we treat mental illness as the devastating thing

I'm killing myself if shorteralls come back.

I'm here as an Alopecian (I have no hair anywhere, whatsoever) to say that the attitude of "Let it be" is the attitude we all need. Some people have to come to terms with the fact that they have a lot of body hair. I had to come to terms with me losing all my body hair.

full underwear is horrifying, I am wearing a pair right now because i'm on my rag and its swamp ass city. Maybe women with flat asses find them comfy? Mine gobble up panties.

I cannot stand condescension. This is the worst quality I can think of (other than really obvious ones like violent etc), having been in a relationship with someone who condescended no matter the context - grocery shopping? Lecture time. Arguments? Deconstructions about how my childhood had made me insecure and thus

Right? You know who we really need to weigh in on vaginas? YET MORE MEN.

Not if you don't go around making unsolicited comments about them. Or say "ewwww" every time the subject is brought up".

I agree. That shouldn't happen. I worked at a salon where the receptionist would ask the male stylists (at leas the gay ones) "But if you did, like girls, you would like me, right?" It made them very uncomfortable.

It always comes across to me as sexist when gay men talk about vaginas. We get it you don't like them, but we aren't worse people for having them.

Me too. You know, if you don't like vaginas don't touch one.
