Canadian women are going to get a special bonus this Canada Day: tampons, pads et al will no longer be charged GST/HST as of July first.
Handles it like a boss.
Welcome to the inaugural post of Bucket Reviews, the place where I'll review slightly older anime as I watch it! Even though what I review will likely be at least a few years old, I'll try to keep everything spoiler-free out of courtesy for those who may not have seen it and might in the future. I can't say the same…
Justin Trudeau has announced that any candidates running in the 2015 election (minus incumbent MP's) will be screened so as to determine where they stand on issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage, and that Liberal MP's under his leadership will be expected to vote pro-choice should the Tories try to reopen the…
Without further comment, I give you this wonderful disclaimer that shows up near the end of the credits, after the list of production babies.
I have to head off to work in a second, but I thought I'd quickly share something about Kinja now that Kotaku and io9 are stuck with nuKinja.
If you haven't read it already, beware the article on Gawker about a Republican senator cleaning his gun with liberal tears. The author put in gore pictures at the end of the article with no warning, so if you don't know they're there, it's easy to end up scrolling down far enough to see more than you wanted or needed…

Even just looking at that poster makes me feel gross and unsafe. Not quite as unsafe as the Don't Be That Girl posters that a different MRA group…
So I posted this on the main article but I thought I'd post this here too since I'm still in grey on the main site (and that article isn't getting much traffic), and I think this is important enough to warrant a GT post of its own.
Well hello, GT!
I just can't with Kotaku and all the transphobia in the comments.
I recently started rewatching Battlestar Galactica and I forgot just how great the casting was for it! So many female characters with just as many personalities and actual depth. Not to mention that women in the BSG universe are allowed to be badasses, something that seems to be frowned upon for some frakking reason.
After reading the comments on an article on Kotaku involving overt sexualization of a female character (I don't know why I bother anymore) it hit me: misogynistic gamers want to have their cake and eat it too.
