It was a blast, actually. They handle like pigs, they're slow and they stink but it was the best student job in the world! I was also a conductor, which was a lot of fun too! I got a lifetime free UNITRANS pass also, which I use only on those rare occasions I return to Davis (like on Picnic Day).

When I was a student at UCD, I drove vintage Routemaster buses for UNITRANS that used exactly this type of transmission - plus they were RHD. Pretty easy to get used to, but pretty weird when you first learn how to operate it!
