I'm wondering if those are the same Brembo calipers as found on the Mustang GT Brembo package / Boss 302 / GT500. They look quite similar. The rotors are definitely different, but the caliper looks about the same.

Even your concept car is beige? Wow. How bored ARE your designers?

Race-grade sequentials nowadays are virtually seamless shift. So, the shift time is literally 100ms or less (likely far less, as many street sequentials are now under 50ms); to the point that there's no perceptible gap in thrust.

Because Racecar.

The most interesting geriatric Twitter account... in the world.

Agreed on that; I don't follow celebrities. But if you're into racing, Twitter is gold. Everyone knows post-race interviews and team press releases are so white-washed you could eat off of them. But follow drivers, riders, mechanics, and teams on Twitter and you'll get much less filtering and much better

Let me correct you: there are plenty of good reasons to join Twitter. There are far fewer reasons for you to actually tweet.

I once knew someone who owned an Altima. She drove around on a right front tire that was at least 10lbs low on air for 3 weeks - AFTER - I told her it needed air.

:D

I've had cars with down and right reverse, two with the configuration you posted (one gated, one which requires pressing down to enter R), and a dogleg 5spd. Dogleg 5spd is definitely the easiest, so long as you remember what you're driving, but 5spds are becoming rather uncommon now. I much prefer the up and left

J-turns. Your argument is invalid.

This is an excellent list. Great job, Patrick. You even managed to get a car I've never even heard of - whatever that Spanish thing was.

Now playing

Not bad, but in AMA Flat Track, the flags are still done on track inches from the bikes, with style, to this day. Green, half way, 2 to go, white flag: [www.youtube.com]

Now that is a proper COTD! A well-written commentary on so many auto scams, and dripping with sarcasm.

The Radical SR8LM. Nearly 500hp in a car that weighs 1500lbs (less than an IndyCar!). The car is essentially a scaled down LeMans-style prototype, which is actually road legal in Europe. And it holds the record Nurburgring lap time for street legal cars - at 6:48.

As of 10:35 EST, 151 people were already so high on crack, their vision was blurry and the clicked the wrong button.

Awesome job. It's nice to see the good guys get the respect they deserve - especially when they don't go asking for it.

With the new cars, I'm just hoping somebody in the Indy cars will be able to draw up a pass at Barber.

Paul Newman should win, of course, but of everyone else, Malcolm Smith.

I was scrolling through the comments to see if anyone had mentioned Malcolm. Malcolm may well be simply one of the nicest people of all time; he just so happened to be perhaps the most well-rounded motorcycle racer the world has ever seen.
