Nope, it's correct. Top shaft is out of the V6.

The shifter is great. Actually one of the best factory short-shifters out there. A few people had problems with transmissions. Ford fixed those under warranty/TSB. Ford only told the NTSB that the trans issues were not a safety problem, with which the NTSB eventually agreed.
