I was searching youtube for an in-car vid of the F1 passing. Glad you posted one.

Now that is epic awesome wall paper. Thanks!

Hey Toyota, your bumper melted a bit. Might wanna have that checked out before full production. Ooooh, and "a quicker-shifting automatic!" Thank goodness! Jeeze, why would anyone want to have to put down his iced mocha latte to pull a physical gear lever and have to actively participate in moving the car? How

"possibly leading to fluid leakage and rear brake failure." And since Harley riders only use the rear brake, fiery death.

I'll repost here what I wrote late Sunday night:

Wow, very cool. Thanks for the update... hope your thumb heals up fast.

I am a motorcycle racer. I raced today, actually. And I've been a MotoGP fan for ten years; basically the whole of the four-stroke era. Whatever I know about F1, know ten times as much about MotoGP. When the series came back to American for the first time in over a decade in 2005, I flew out to Laguna Seca to see

Of all the Lotus 7 replicas listed (and there are hundreds of variants out there), I haven't seen the craziest mentioned. The Tiger Z100. The Z100 uses TWO 1000cc engines (Kawasakis in the video, though they've now switched to Suzukis) - one to power the front wheels, and one to power the rear wheels, for an

Seriously one of the best sounds, in the woooooorld. I even posted the bump start video. Come on, how can you not love bump starting a race engine? But I see they changed the title to "AUTO start-ups" from "What's the most awesome start-up sound" as it was posed yesterday. Whatever, they're missing out.

I guess you're speaking of car racing; in the moto world, Honda absolutely dominated the MotoGP World Championship this year, with Casey Stoner clinching last weekend (3 races early). The RC212V has consistently been 0.3-0.8 faster than the competition's best, every weekend.

Just going off the video description.

As far as cars, this rat rod w/ big block, ITBs, and manual shift... wow.

Honda's RC166 makes one of the most glorious sounds of all time. I've been fortunate enough to hear one run and the sound is symphonic cacophony. No starter (because racebike) = bump start FTW! Some stats: 6 cyl, 4v DOHC, 250cc, 18,000rpm, 7spd trans, all in 1966! [world.honda.com]

Jealous. The track I was referring to is just now (as in, this week) putting in a flat track oval. It's short, only 1/4 mile, but it looks pretty awesome. I'm thinking I may have to get some wheels/tires and give it a shot!

Not where I ride, but I ride on a major motocross track, so it's all MX race bikes. A dual sport doesn't have the engine performance, suspension, or tires to properly handle MX. But this same complex does have trails, and that's where dual sports are at home. Trails are a lot of fun, and for the most part it's more

The open-anything/anyone is definitely the scariest part of the Ring. Big speed differentials are extremely dangerous even with professional race drivers - we saw that on explicit display in the 24hrs of LeMans this year. That's why most racing organizations go out of their way to limit the speed differentials and
