Depends very much what you're riding. If you're riding a modern sportbike which is entirely alloy but for the engine internals and a few load-bearing bits, you're never going to trip them even if you lay the bike on top of the wire. Most states already have this law in place. If not in the actual Code, then in the Rules of the Road. Anyone who rides is well aware of it. If a light is never going to activate and you're in a low traffic area, what are you supposed to do, just park it?
