I wrote a letter to my local councilman in my former city when we were trying to add LGBTQ to the protected classes. I wrote exactly this: Your children, and their children will judge you harshly if you don’t stand up now. It is easy to stand up when everyone has evolved. It matters most to stand up when it is

I think reasonable people can disagree on that particular point.

The telling part is that Russia hacked both the RNC and the DNC. They only released the DNC information, which means they are blackmailing the Republicans to get their way. And as we all know Republican priorities are 1) themselves, 2) the party, and 3) the nation.

That’s why I think Trump won’t make the four years not because of scandal or impeachment, but health. Dude doesn’t exercise or sleep, and eats fast food. He doesn’t have a real doctor so who knows what he has. He’s a walking quadruple bipass waiting to happen.

GOP opposition research would have destroyed him and just like Hillary he would not have hit back hard on Trump’s terrible biz record in a way that “average Americans” could understand. e.g. “You are the only person ever to lose money owning a casino”

I do have to LOL/headdesk/cry at the people who are like, “We could have had Bernie or Joeeeeee!!!

But Saint Bernie, the man who can communicate with birds, can surely save us? I mean, if he starts drinking the blood of newborn infants starting now, he can reverse some of the corrosive effects of old age and bring us back from the brink of disaster? Right?

“I suspect most of the people working for her didn’t feel impassioned the way they did for Obama”

This may be too big of a leap, but is it possible ambivalence was somewhat to blame for the lack of strong local leadership/organization? I voted for Hillary and donated to her campaign, but some part of me dreaded the idea of the Clintons back in the White House. I suspect most of the people working for her didn’t

Maybe, just maybe, this country is more racist and/or misogynist than we’d like to believe.

I wonder if any of it would have mattered. Like you stated at the end of the article, Trump did literally every single thing wrong that is normally required for a traditional campaign to be successful and still won.

Newsflash; people who can’t tell they’ve been conned surprised when it turns out they’ve been conned.

In this day and age I’m still absolutely baffled at people who fail to wear a seatbelt. The ability for airbags to help you is seriously impaired if your body’s movement isn’t constrained so the airbags can do their job safely and properly.

I hate her too. But I listened very intently to the show and Trevor is the only person I’ve seen make her squirm. While I wish to hell he would have pushed her much harder, but at least he showed she is all talk and no substance.

I’d say there are two objectives: first to make choosing abortion prohibitively expensive and second to breach doctor-patient confidentiality since a record of every abortion will automatically be created for the State on top of the private one the doctor has and it will be attributed to the woman.

If no birth or death certificates are required why should this sort of medical waste be treated any differently than an amputated limb or organ?

For a party that hates big government they sure do a lot of it.

I looked this up because I was just too curious: I mean seriously, what happens if he just goes full-on batshit crazy during this process? If he honestly is so functionally unable to do the job within the bounds laid out by the constitution that he’d be considered legally incapable?
