Is it Friday yet.
Is it Friday yet.
You can’t please everyone all of the time.
Well this happened....
Well, she was a Rebel.
I am loving the sparseness of the scripts. So many series now wants to show how cool and clever they are with their dialogue. The Mandalorian is the complete opposite, it uses dialogue very sparingly and when it does its meaningful, helps the cast is stellar. Furthermore, the visuals are so rich and emotionally…
As someone with privilege, I don’t actually notice these things until it’s pointed out on the internet. Thankfully, this time, the first comment I read about it was yours being a positive reaction to noticing it, rather than the inevitable horrible ones that you tend to run across on other sites.
I also didn’t notice…
I know this isn’t The Root, and doesn’t have much to do with adorable Yodlings, but can we talk about how wonderfully brown The Madalorian is? John Beasley (Omahaaaa), Pedro Pascal, Horatio Sanz, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Julia Jones, and Taika Waititi with Giancarlo Esposito and Ming-Na Wen soon to arrive.
I can’t…
Not even an hour - think it clocked in just over 39 minutes. But yes.
It’s incredible that Jon Favreau is responsible for launching the MCU *and* live-action TV Star Wars. He really doesn’t get recognition equal to his success.
100%. First live action Star Wars series and strong out of the gate. Favreau should be given the job to jumpstart every series
One hour in and I’m all like just let Filoni and Favreau do all the Star War from now on.
Sabine could easily pop up. Hopefully
Luckily most Star Wars fans are easy going chaps, and don’t mind a touch up here or there to established canon.
All in all, solid. Dave Filoni is Star Wars.
I liked some stuff about TLJ , but jesus , the ‘please hold’style prank phone call stuff at the start was just HORRIBLY cringingly bad , plus turning Hux into a comedy bad guy was just a waste of a great actor.
I’m pretty sure that one of their major plot beats died in December 2016.
TFA: Han teaches Rey, rejected/defeated by Kylo
TLJ: Luke teaches Rey, rejected/defeated by Kylo
TLS: We’ll see whether they have enough for Leia teaches Rey, rejected/defeated and/or embraced by Klyo
I commented on another site that The Last Jedi really needs to “drop the humor” of the previous film. Someone REALLY got defensive about that and asked if I had watched the rest of the franchise.
Reading it in James Earl Jones’ voice (as one must) is so. damn. good.
