Who knew there were so many Carr fans. I remember when I really wanted to read three coffins, I had to buy it used on Amazon from a 1960-something paperback. I love his mysteries but they are absolutely bananas.

I LOVED Carrie Preston as Elsbeth. I know she’s essentially quirk city, but I’m very quirk tolerant as evidenced by the fact I’m enjoying “Mrs. Davis”. Can’t wait to check that out. Hope they do her right.
I have to say, reading the entirety of Kwan’s tweet story was so beautiful and empathetic and I can only imagine how overwhelming the past year has been. Like he said, just getting the opportunity to make the film, let alone to find an audience felt like a huge victory.
I have to say: I was casually looking forward to the next season, but Jesus Christ did that trailer do a good job. I’m now chomping at the bit.
Agreed. That remark and Jennifer Coolidge getting the bug caught in her throat during the vespa ride were the highlights of the episode for me.
This website has become an embarrassment.
Probably my favorite comedy post pandemic. So so glad it’s coming back!!
Wow. I’m really pleasantly surprised. So many adaptations seem to get so little right and I’m still not exactly holding my breath, but... it really looks good. Crossing my fingers for this one.
I mean different strokes for different folks, but I ADORED this episode. My favorite since the Snatch Game.
The screenplay was on 2019's Blacklist and I gotta say, it’s pretty freaking great. Ralph Fienne’s is impeccable casting for that character. Not sure I’ll see it, as I’m not a fan of gore (I’m much better reading it) but this is a pretty entertaining and interesting horror film. Looks beautiful too.
Quelle surprise.
Man. I REALLY want to fall in love with this show again. I still love the characters of Maeve and Bernard, but Christ the last season was such a convoluted bore-fest. And the whole thing culminated in the deaths of Delores and The Man in Black, (which I honestly didn’t mind, because I felt like they weren’t doing…
I haven’t been this excited for a movie in ages.
“However, the video is coming coming down just yet.”
Pardon me? I loved the first season but the second has no Michelle Gomez, easily the best part of the first???
But I don’t think it’s just about plot. In fact as far as the plot goes, I think the review gave me enough. In fact I wouldn’t have minded the review at all... if it included an analysis or just indication about what makes this film worth watching beyond the representation issue.
As tropey as the concept is: the premise of The Paradox Hotel is RIGHT up my alley.
You seem very pleasant and well adjusted.
Your comment made me laugh the hardest I have all week. Thanks! :)
I agree. It’s an incredibly striking and clever design. It’s so simple and obvious and it makes me immediately think why I haven’t seen something like it before.
