Absolutely terrible article. What workplace or school that blocks websites allows one to configure a VPN, or install TOR (let alone any programs) to their machine?

I would honestly not be surprised if WB was licensing the Harry Potter IP to Niantic for about $10million/year. So with that in mind, if it was time to pony up for another year against $40million in revenue and what must surely be a heavily declining user base, I could see it.

Not mentioned: Pot racks block the view across the kitchen, make even the neatest feel crowded, and become an impediment to moving safely if you are much above average height. 

It’s also based loosely on real life events of a white guy becoming a samurai. I think they meshed like 3 or 4 different stories together but it’s really well done if you watch it and fantastically acted and representful of race and culture. This movie doesn’t belong in this list and still holds up today. 

Agreed. It’s a beautifully shot and acted film with a pretty compelling story I think. It is very easy to peg this as just another “white savior” Hollywood bullshit movie if you only watch the trailers lol.

Well the reason for the war are one thing, but the relationship that develop between Cruise and Watanabe’s character, and village, is the heart of the movie.  Why they were fighting was more or less a plot device.

True, and honestly the end when Cruise goes to present the sword to the Emperor and how he does it is quite a powerful scene.

I kind of disagree with The Last Samurai, it’s not really a typical “white savior” type movie. It may look like if you haven’t seen it though. You know, something really troubling is how so many people have used Palestine as an excuse to fully pull off their masks and allow their antisemitism breathe right out in the open.

Honestly, there’s no way this can be explained away as just being stream-of-consciousness from someone who’s not legitimately antisemitic.
