Solomon Grundy want pants too!
Solomon Grundy want pants too!
Would this have played better if the devs had’t accidentally leaked what was going to happen?
Is it? I don’t think it’s hard to acknowledge that game development is extremely hard while also criticizing shitty marketing and hype.
I don’t know. He was pretty shook up about the death of his first wife and little girl. Like, enough to seek revenge against the gods. I don’t think he would be emotionally invested in the women in GoW III specially since they are all Olympians who Kratos hates very much. Specially the goddess of love(lust in this…
I’ll say favorite and best:
SNES Hyper Dimension.
Why is everyone hyped up for DBFZ? Because all these other useless franchises keep stumbling between being a fighting game, being cinematic, or having some odd ball gameplay features like capsule enhancments.
Hyper Dimension got it right the first time, you don’t need all…
As I argued in detail in my comment on the original post on this topic, regardless of whether the developer’s aim was to censor or, as you put it, “cut off revenue streams of hateful people or hate groups”, etc., as long as they did so for ANY reason outside of protecting their copyrighted material against…
Devil’s Advocate here. Today we see PDP get DMCA’s because he dropped a racial slur. What’s to stop a game dev tomorrow from hitting another Youtuber with DMCA because they’re playing a game from a rival company? Or because the Youtuber was discussing his/her favorite brand of whiskey, and the game dev doesn’t want to…
All joking aside (whatever joking may have happened, or is yet to follow), it’s great that you’re seeking personal help. I find it very interesting how you are able to reflect on deep personal issues through the medium of videogames.
I think Bungie already made this doom mod about 20 years ago.
Actually, I think those companies will continue to thrive because they tend to be good at sifting through the hatred and figuring out what’s nonsense vs. what’s genuine criticism that they should respond to. YouTube dislikes for a game that isn’t out yet = nonsense. Diablo III auction house = genuine criticism.
The one op-ed about this that made any sense said exactly that: http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/04/0…
Mario 64, Bubsy 3D, Tomb Raider. The year 1996. The 3 first third person 3D platform exploration games. Only Mario 64 and Tomb Raider were influential. Bubsy has always been crap!
I agree with this in most instances, but some games are meant to be F2P. Dota 2 or LOL would not be nearly as enticing and popular if they had a 40$ price tag BEFORE all the microtransactions (sure they are popular enough now that they could pull it off but if they launched that way they wouldn’t have the popularity…
“Android users left out in the cold..." Meanwhile, we Windows phone users are camping out on Hoth.
One of the things that really disappointed me about the later Mass Effect games was that they went from this amazing, brutalist, concrete, 1970s vision of the future to the general 'white plastic and glass' future that can be seen in all sci-fi from Minority Report onwards.
To be fair, the recolor skins are unlocked with Hero levels and aren't meant to be premium, like the ones in LoL or Smite.
That list was pretty good, having finished watching the YouTube video. SkyttsTV did a good run-down on the newest labors of love for this game.
Of course, for the full experience, you might as well go ahead and use the mod, too.
2014 is the year of unfinished games. It's really sad.
