These are engineering students learning how to accomplish tough challenges in the real world. The process they learn here will influence all they do in the decades to come, in whatever field they are employed.

Mesa managed to pass Mesa for third

10$ for earplugs and muffs is small change compared to actually fixing a track section. Safety theater.

San Bernardino is still in the LA basin, southwest of the mountains.

Diesel which is used for boats or generators can be purchased without the road tax. (untaxed diesel has a red dye, so it’s illegal to use in a road vehicle.)

The 5-10% of usage that needs to use the generator during peak usage doesn’t make the remaining 90% moot.

This is typically happening when the outside air is hot, too. And they already have a door open.

Why don’t they use the boarding tunnel to pipe in cool fresh air? That would reduce the need for running the engine or APU.

Out! Out, I say! Out of the greys.

I see several systems in the $400 - $600 range that include multiple cameras and a local DVR with the option for either 24/7 or motion activation.

My first thought was the “native land” activists in Hawaii, but that doesn’t explain the Chile telescope.

Minecraft doesn’t deal with spherical geometry of a planet. But other games do, such as NMS and Star Citizen.

But how many students are going to be searching for a college that would not accept their actual score?

The question is not if they spent more money, but how much of it was expenses for daily operations, compared to capital investment for future profits. (And how much of that was actually wise investment.)

It’s in vacuum, so there’s no reason to streamline. I’m not even sure what today’s design concepts for modern technology” is for moon landers. And it does include a small 6-wheel rover similar to the Sojourner rover the US sent to Mars.

they’re forever tainted now, again.

The new tech doesn’t change the shape of the lander. It still needs solar panels, rockets, tanks, and insulation. It probably has the latest sensors and computers, but that wouldn’t change the basic design.

It reached a high enough temperature during impact to melt or vaporize things, even if there was no combustion. (It was moving fast.) But there would also be a bit of fuel and oxidizer remaining in the tank which could combust. It was probably hypergolic, so it would burn just by mixing the two tanks on impact, even
