The only land available would mean returning to base. That would take a lot of fuel. When the first stage separates from the second stage, it is travelling very fast in the wrong direction - it is going at a substantial fraction of orbital velocity. So to return to base it first has burn fuel to reduce that velocity

Awesome. I watched it live.

It’s at least possible that Negan had an agent inside Alexandria all along. Enid may have poisoned Maggie with the pickle, deliberately to force Rick to take her to a doctor, thus forcing them to go to Hilltop. In any case, I figure Negan had Alexandria surrounded and all roads blocked, so it didn’t much matter which

How is that a problem? They explained where the horse came from. You think a horse couldn’t evade zombies for a few hours? It wasn’t the first horse we’ve seen.

I didn’t understand the angles when it cut stuff. Both the trees and the icicles were cut with the blade moving horizontal to the ground. When we saw it flying, the blade was always vertical.

I was thinking something similar, except that I think it’s possible “VR experience” genre will have legs. I like games with an element of exploration, and if the sense of presence is strong enough, it may be that the experience of visiting another place might be enough without having to shoot things in it. After all,

Um, Rift are being criticised here for delivery issues. We have no idea whether HTC Vive will be better at delivering the boxes on time.

Yep. The superhuman close-up vision is also another reason I avoid contact lenses. With glasses it’s quick to switch from normal to superhuman. I don’t even need a phone box.

A good example is the opening to Serenity. It starts with a whole lot of frame-breaking cuts where what you think is real turns out not to be. This introduces the bad guy and the central conflict of the film. We then switch to the Serenity craft itself, with one (*) beautiful long take that introduces the good guys

Anyone who is almost a medical doctor, like a veterinarian or a psychiatrist, will die as soon as they show that they’re competent at medicine.

I’ve not seen that show, but the description reminded me of how some professional electricians take a different approach to working on live circuitry. I’d always switch off the mains ring, but they don’t always bother.

It’s not so much his mind as the fake memory he paid for. Its title, “Blue Sky on Mars”, was a bit of a giveaway. As was the way the woman matches his specifications - we see her on screen before he “meets” her.

You feel heavier because you are heavier, because that’s what weight is. You have more mass. The force of gravity is proportional to both masses. You seem to think it is proportional to the difference between their masses. Why?

Why is that sad? Also, it wasn’t really a lie. The encounter with Daryl was a big part of Rick’s motivation.

Hilltop weren’t being allowed to exist. They were in the process of being taken over. First being made to give up 50% of their resources. Then more than 50%. Then their leader was to be assassinated. This we know. The next step, had the assassination succeeded, would presumably be for Negan to install a new leader and

Part of why she was angry with Morgan is that he was making it harder for her.

What Hilltop said is credible because it matches the Saviour MO, as declared by the group that caught Daryl. Namely, they usually kill someone straight away just to make the point, even if that person has done nothing wrong. They were going to kill Abraham for that reason, so when Hilltop says they did kill a

A warrant gives them permission to search the phone. It doesn’t give them the ability to do so; they have to figure that out for themselves. Same if you have a safe hidden in your house: you don’t have to tell the police where it is or how to open it. It’s up to them to find the key.

Here is why Apple doesn’t want to help and you guys don’t want to talk about it.
Apple adverted that their hardware is unbreakable, they won’t try break it themselves. It is how a marketing campaign works in the real world. It has nothing to do of your privacy right. It’s all about money.

I hate that they are blurred out, because for me censorship is distracting. I’d rather they were allowed to wear brief swimming costumes. That way they’d still be largely exposed to the elements and have no protection against insects, thorns, sunburn etc, which I guess is the goal, and we wouldn’t need the censorship.
