Trump is the president elect. Nothing will change this fact. And appearing at an inaugural parade does not imply approval or endorsement. And for me, the continuation of HBCUs is more important than making an irrelevant statement about Trump by not appearing. And as I noted before, Trump will be gone one day, while

It’s really sad. Trump treats the presidency and everything about it as though it was a step down for him. The recent stories about how the Bush daughters welcomed Malia and Sasha, and left a letter for them contrasts sharply with how Trump has appeared to keep Barron and his own wife away from the White House and

The best way to apologize for being late is to not be late.

Ultimately Sanders endorsed Clinton, and even offered to have some of his people work for her in the contested states. Unfortunately, Clinton’s people believed the polls and turned Sanders down.

The corporatist charge is not truth. It’s just rhetorical claptrap.

I wanted to like Sanders. I really did. But he was an intellectually lazy one-note buffoon. A socialist who was too lazy to follow what had actually been happening in Europe for the past 25 years, and who had no coherent economic policy that rose beyond “free college” and single payer.

Clearly, the Republicans have spent the past 8 years of the Obama administration secretly working on the perfect solution to Obamacare, and are just waiting for the right moment to unveil it.

Damn. You got me at number 3. Atheism/humanism/secularism IS superior to religion in every way. But unlike some Christian fanatics, I would never force anyone to give up, renounce, or deny their religion, or lack of religion.

If the Fox demographic wants to donate a million bucks, it’s all right with me. The excess can help the college. The Trump era will pass; life goes on.

The Republican leadership lacks either the intelligence or the courage to impeach Trump. This was evident from the numerous missed opportunities they had to eject him from the Republican primary, when he clearly demonstrated that he had intention of playing nice with the GOP elite or dancing to their tune.

I’ve never heard anyone sane say something like, “Charlie Manson lived life on his own terms. That’s why he’s so ... fascinating!”

RE: that readers could approach the novella differently depending on what they knew about Boyden’s identity.

Seems to me, sadly, that the people of Kentucky knew exactly what they were voting for. I’ve never known anybody in the South to be hot for a union, no matter how exploitative employers might be.

Do you have an alternative list of best movies of the year?

Gotta go see it now. I detest the idea that a critic, or bonehead, would think that he could decide what a person should see, or deliberately spoil a movie on ethically spurious grounds. The last time there was crap like this was conservative zealot Michael Medved deliberately spoiling the 2004 Clint Eastwood

It would be interesting to see the list of cars kept the longest correlated to frequency of repair, reliability, etc.

Is the course free because people kept meaning to pay for it, but just put if off?

Actually, it’s kind of sweet. It makes history about real people with desires, and underscores the tragedy of Henry’s love turning into murderous (and probably false) denunciation.

RE: It’s more about understanding that fundamentally, the wealthy are wealthy now because of oppression.

The headline should note that Anthony’s grave site will be open for visitors, not the actual grave. Unless this is some weird feminist Day of the Dead thing going on.
