I didn’t talk about the newspaper industry overall, I was talking about arts critics, who have lost jobs not only as newspapers decline, but as stupid aggregator sites like Rotten Tomatoes arise (along with blogging and the general deprecation of arts journalism).
You’re joking, right? I’m really not worried about lettuce. At some magical point in the future, when I need some I’ll just google it, and amazon will deliver it. What world do you live in where farmers produce vegetables with no expectation of making a living or profit? Wait, sometimes it might be when evil big…
Of course I am looking at it from the point of view of a consumer. Of course, what I want is paramount. Also important is when I want it and the format in which I want it. How could it be otherwise? When I go to buy a head of lettuce, I am not going to shed a tear or alter my decision in any way because of what the…
It takes me two series of input to type Rotten Tomatoes and then go to their site. If I see the score for Man From UNCLE and then leave immediately, what has Rotten Tomatoes gained?
Very nice. You almost want to go, “Doh!” You get a quick summary and a list of other, more detailed review links. This makes it easier to get a sense of review consensus. Previously, I would search for a film and then have to scan past irrelevant stuff to get to the movie review links.
Why would you want to visit Rotten Tomatoes anyway? But I don’t see how this robs you of anything. You can easily go further if you wish.
Yep. This is a great deal. You would still get a great, but smaller screen with the Toshiba Chromebook 2. I think it is still going for around $280, but you would have to settle for a 16GB drive instead of 32GB.

This story is too surreal and too funny to be offensive. And here’s the thing. Yeah, there are black people who are as light as this lady, and who have similarly textured hair. But still, this woman doesn’t really look black. And I’ve known black people who pass for white, and who fool most people. This includes…
This great post proves once again that people should eat out more often.
The weird thing is that Marvel is getting exactly what they want, a booting of comic book sensibility into the movies. But this nonsense of a film that is exactly like a comic book, down to being a three hour serial in a never-ending stream of future movies, may prove to be their undoing. I am almost looking forward…
Yeah, this just about sums up the crappy parts of the movie. But then again, why stop here?
“Does the situation change at all on the tax end of things if you buy a car cheap, fix it, and then trade it for something more expensive?”
If you are not using the car for business purposes, you don’t get to write off the depreciation.
Good stuff. However, keep in mind that for moderate income families, passive income over certain limits can reduce or eliminate certain credits that you might otherwise be entitled to, such as the Earned Income Credit.
You know why this woman wrote something so stupid? Hormones.
Only $20 more for 16GB? Very tempting.

"The system designed and built by white people for the empowerment of white people means that black people cannot become empowered unless white people take a step back."
"But they're not participating in a dialogue, it's instead a story about Them."
Those were your words, "to show empathy," and if you want to walk it back, fine. Either way, it can be the beginning of a conversation. If you think that the person is only seeking validation of non-racism and is unwilling to listen, then you are wasting your time talking to the person, and also wasting your time…
