That Avanti 4-door was actually based on a Chevy Caprice Classic chassis, retuned for spoting purposes. The 2-door used a Monte Carlo SS chassis. Yeah, GM stopped building the rear-drive MC in 1987, but Avanti stockpiled as many chassis as they could.

The wife and I have found that an E39 M5 is a good balance between fun and comfortable.  And, if you ever need to cross those big, square states out west really quickly, it’ll do that very well.  Mileage isn’t great, but the tank is large.

On another note concerning Camrys, why does every single gold Camry from the 90's and early 2000's have body panels and bumpers that don’t match perfectly in color? They all seem to have 2-4 different shades of gold depending on which body panel you’re looking at.
