Many cars are going to timing chains rather than timing belts, but most everything is interference these days.

Subaru themselves have already done it:
Maybe Ford can try their hand at it again...
It’s under the powertrain warranty, which was upped to 8yr/100,000 miles on those cars.
The FBs use 0W-20. I believe the FA20 also uses 0W-20, while the FA20 DIT uses 5W-30.
Also of note, I believe that was the only way to get Pistachio Green on a MkIII Golf in the US.
The Cd. was 0.29
With perhaps a bit of Testarossa and Cizeta V16 mixed in...
I believe it was functional on the 2nd gen Z24 (and possibly the 1st gen), too.
Fair point. NA Subaru engines tend to lower in horsepower for their displacement compared to the competition (especially from the ‘00s on).
They just eat oil now; though that seems to have been tamed for the most part from ‘15 on.
2011 in the Forester, 2013 in the Outback and Legacy.
Well said. While I love my 2009, the latest model is definitely an objectively better car. The bump in fuel economy from the CVT alone made the Forester fit the role of a perfect daily even more now than ever.
The current 2.5L (FB25) found in the Forester you tested, as well as the Outback, and Legacy, was introduced in 2011 (for the Forester, 2013 for the Outback and Legacy). It shares practically nothing with the old 2.5L (EJ25) that was around in one form or another since 1996 except for the rounded up displacement.
The convertible starts at ~$41,000 though.
The engine wasn’t completely new; it was still a VQ engine same as the 350Z, but it it did see a displacement bump and a new variable valve timing system.
I believe the 86/BRZ name on the race livery is promoting the 86/BRZ “one-make” professional race program run by Gazoo Racing. It’s not the actual name of this car.
Only on bulk orders of 100 or more...
Well, pretty much everyone except for those of us who live in the wrong end of the state!
Just like this badge doesn’t belong on this car...
