In the 90's, my dad was the president of a small community bank in NYC. When they opened a new branch in the Rockaways, they had several meet-and-greets with former players from NY teams during the first summer. Rick Cerrone was pleasant. Ed Kranepool and Bud Harrelson from the 69 Mets were AWESOME.

Awesome, thanks!

Is Deadcast coming back? Or did it come back and it’s in a different place post-Gawker and I’m just a fucking idiot?

As a Providence College alum I was pleased to not see Kris Dunn on this list.....but I’m starting to worry if I need to be on butt-watch soon.

He does mention it (and I should have acknowledged it), but is a bit dismissive of it. One of the largest labor locals in the country, a home health care union in Chicago, lost almost 3/4 of its membership (and with it, 3/4 of their operating budget) after Harris v. Quinn. We can’t just say “We can blame Right to Work

Thank you!

The community-based work yes (and I’m based in NYC).

If you read my comment, I never said there was anything WRONG with that. I mean I disagree with you on Right To Work laws, but that wasn’t at all my point. My point is that whether you think it’s right or wrong, the fact that these laws are in place pose a challenge to unions. Is that clearer?

This is a great read, and I agree with so much of it.

I’m a recovering alcoholic and it was easier for me to kick that addiction than it is for me to NOT eat any meal as fast as humanly possible.

I swear sometimes this fucking series is the only thing that keeps me from completely losing my shit after a garbage week.

Probably worth noting that when the Yugoslav War broke out, the irregular militias did most of their recruitment through soccer hooligans.

Seriously before I read the article I thought “1-2 is going to be Ladybugs and Praying Mantis in whichever order”. I was stunned to see the Mantis wasn't in the top 3.

Bad bear. BAD FUCKING BEAR.

Holy shit. You son of a bitch this is incredible.

There’s a thousand things driving me crazy as a Gooner this season, none moreso than the fact that Leicester has 3 losses, and 2 of them were to Arsenal.

Screenshotted for easy access to respond to right wing whiners on twitter. Might stitch it on a penalty flag or write it on a ref’s yellow card as well not sure if I’ll have the time.

Totally agree. Heard Thibs on a podcast with Zach Lowe and it sounded like he and Boogie had a tremendous rapport on the USA team two years ago.

I read this article unaware that there was a Delino Deshields Jr and my mind was blown that Deshields was still playing.

Here's my problem: I can't nap. I physically can't. Only if I pulled an all nighter or had a week long stretch of working 14+ hours a day can I nap. I've tried. I long for the ability to nap. It's a curse.
