They are breaking some mega rules if they let others partake. It’s because of the belief in transubstantiation that only Catholics can have it. Hell, Catholics who aren’t in a state of grace shouldn’t take it but then most of the church wouldn’t get to. 

The couple should not have had a mass at their wedding then. My husband is not Catholic and when we got married in the church I made sure there was no mass (communion) so his family wasn’t left out. I’m actually surprised they did one if one half of the attendees weren’t Catholic. And as, it makes it so much longer! 

To be fair it’s because Catholics believe in transubstantiation and other Christians don’t. It’s bad wine and styrofoam tasting wafers - not like you’re missing much. 

What... kind of possible education can they be providing? And how much work can they possibly need done that the students all work and don’t pay tuition? Who are the professors?

I used to be an altar server and THAT priest, Father Speedy as you say, was my favourite.  He used to cut off the choir after like 1 verse.  And he’d tell me jokes while they were singing.

I think you went off a little strongly on that one. Voter turnout and apathy is an issue in Canada too. It’s not unique to Americans. But yes... some people ARE too lazy and apathetic to vote. Everywhere.

Better yet take your kids with you to vote if possible/ feasible.* We’ve taken our kids with us to vote in every election since they were born (7,5,2). We have conversations about the importance of what we are doing with them each time. The idea being that by the time they can vote it’s second nature. And they…
