You keep moving the goalposts so you can be right. No you are redefining unreliable narrator so you can be right. An unreliable narrator is just one who recollection of events can’t be trusted. For ANY REASON.

You are saying that nothing in this episode looks to be contradicted in future episodes?

See this is what I meant. You needed to be told by someone that this is the first version of an event seen in Rashomon style. You didn’t even wait to see if they retell this from another persons perspective in a later episode.

It’s literally Rashomon. You need to watch the ENTIRE show to know what happened.

I am fine with a skip after 6 seconds, but I 100% will never site through a 30 second add to see if I want to watch something. Ever. 

I didn’t mean YOU specifically, but in general. Just that it’s SO obviously Rashomon, and that the Rashomon troupe is so overused these days, that the people here not seeing it are really missing the point.

I don’t if you’re aware of this, but there are 5 more hours of show left. And you want all the answers NOW? That is what I meant by a lack of media literacy. 

If it’s “accurate but incomplete” then “a small fire started by child in a STONE TEMPLE somehow killed 27 powerful darkside force users” but you’re not yet sure how...? Right? 

Well, I think you should have known. It seemed obvious to me.

I think if you really think that Star Wars just had an episode where a child lighting a book on fire in a STONE TEMPLE burned the place to the ground and killed 27 powerful darkside witches, you are just looking for a reason to complain.

I think my point is that Rashomon is such an overused troupe that this point you could criticize it for that, but to not understand they were emptying that troupe shows a lack of Media literacy.

The lack of media literacy in the reviews and reactions to this weeks episode is staggering.

This sort of article, and the entire “Baby it’s cold outside” discourse, sounds like a Babylon Bee article about how clueless liberals are.
