Huh, I feel the exact opposite. I can’t stand reading a hapless game reviewer try and tiptoe his or her way around the sim racing scene. “well these physics SEEM pretty realistic. I think. I’m told. Uhm. There are parts that you can add to your car. They improve the car. They seem pretty real.”

Never built one from the ground up but finished many a work in progress. These are all since 2013. Don't ever listen when someone says that it's always cheaper to drive an old car. It's simply not. However it is worth every dime when you hear that v8 fire up.

It would have been helpful if you clarified whether you mean a hot rod in the traditional post-war v8 on a pre-war chassis sense, or any significantly tuned car.
