Yeah well it might piss the buyer off enough to give details to the police. Serves them right for buying stolen goods.

I'm fairly sure Apple can remotely block all the phones regardless of where they are. And I doubt they'll get to the US.

So it's killing BBM? With their Blackberry app?

Absolute bullshit. Google Voice currently works in one country.

But the looters didn't have Genius Bar appointments to take things!

Fairly sure the Birmingham Bullring store got looted, anyone confirm? Currently out of town.

O2 must surely know the serial numbers of the phones stolen, so they can track them/stop them from being registered?

Yeah so that's really good when you're not looking at the floor and knock your iPhone over :)

It says a lot about the quality of the article and sources that the entire target market of the product can be changed so easily.

Elephants could't go that far on a single charge, you had to change their batteries!

It's called having a witness. Do you think the burglar wants to be seen at the crime, have their description circulated among police, perhaps have their number plates recorded and not have time to get that far away?

I don't think a desktop computer's good for students. You need a way to take everything with you across campus and to lectures: I'd be really surprised if Apple did this and didn't try and push the Air more.

Yup, no one's going to buy one straight after Christmas and they really could have made something of it.

Oh quit your complaining, you still get gas cheap compared to lots of other places.

Does that include tax?

Since Lion's new mail I haven't given GMail a second look, but this is a good interface.

He offered a valid point, it's stupid to use a beta version if you plan on using it day to day and don't want to risk having your data lost.

Alarms normally startle the burglar and will get a few looks, which means if there's someone near your door or window they'll be seen.

I normally put an old laptop out which is easy enough for a potential burglar to spot once inside, whilst hiding the good stuff away. Hopefully they'll take the bait and be gone, but luckily I've never had the chance to test the theory.

That's absolutely true. The point of having a firearm is to have an advantage over the other person. They're hard to obtain so it's much easier to just use a knife, but if the police or the general population have firearms then the criminals need them too.
