So long as you can own some libs, or something
If shooting yourself in the foot had any political consequence at all for the far-right, we would have seen it by now.
The political right just needs a narrative. They don’t need cause.
Their audience saw the tweet or the story and it served it purpose as fake news to spread a narrative about the shooter. Their base doesn’t pay attention to it being removed. They may see a formal apology and retraction but chances are they won’t care. So did they really lose?
Guybrush Threepwood walked into the Scumm Bar. The bartender asked him, “Why the long face?”
You can put a larger capacity SSD in there, you just can’t put a larger formfactor one. (Which should be common sense, but you know how people are.) The power usage and physical size kind of go hand-in-hand because the bigger it is, the more chips it can have, and the more chips it has, the more power draw.
At a glance it seems like the 2230 drives are generally cheaper than the 2242 drives (presumably because it’s not a very common size) so that might be part of the motivation of this modder.
Diddy Kong Racing, 12fps with four of you at times.
Shodan and the many send their regards...
Lucky you could get System Shock running at all. It’s legendarily hinky to even load up on modern systems. Daggerfall too, I have my old CD somewhere. I’ve never been able to get it to run on anything more modern than an actual DOS system.
I think this depends more on the genre.
First person stuff really struggles for obvious reasons, but I think some of the old dungeon crawlers are fine. Old RPGs and Platformers specifically come out fine when they were done well. Super Mario World is still a fantastic game, and I’d argue it’s on par with current…
“They did that already and it sucked.”
I was hearing people talking about a Goldeneye remaster only this week, what with the xbox show. I played Goldeneye professionally for a short time, winning many tournaments. That isn’t a game that will benefit from being cleaned up much, 60fps, mouse controls and that’s it.
You would have to make huge sweeping…
I had a similar experience with Mario Kart 64 last Christmas. I totally forgot in multiplayer the music goes away with four players and there are no CPUs. Granted the game play holds up more than Goldeneye 64.
Very true, I think the majority of games that do actually hold up tend to be OG 2d games. Most early 3d games and/or FPS just don’t hold up.
Agreed sometimes the nostalgia isnt enough. Most games do fail across the bored when compared to modern games. Even some of the best during their time.
This is the problem with replaying I would argue MOST old games. Take something like Goldeneye, many of us would argue that it was THE fps back in the day. But it just doesn’t hold up, control or visual wise anymore. They released a remaster many years ago with modern graphic and controls, but it was awful to play. …
