Japanese animation can go particularly bad on trying to look realistic, specially for styles like Sazae-san that were very cartoonish in the first place.

Seems like a port problem, not a Switch specific problem. Though to be fair, I’ve watched actual video comparisons instead of nitpicked screen captures and it really doesn’t look all that bad. It is definitely worse, but not that bad.
