Regarding the "cloud" computing/ online connectivity requirement, I've only got three words: Sim City Debacle.

The no used games thing is a huge problem. When you buy a book, if you lend it to a friend, they don't have to pay a "fee" to read it. Or when you get it out of the library. Also, when you're done reading the book, if you need the cash, you can sell the book.

She's not fat. I am confused.

Mostly I think it's sad that medicine can't do better for women at high risk than having such invasive surgery. An 87% risk is pretty bad, though, so I can hardly blame her.

Spot on with the "reeks of nice-guy advice" line.

Until someone kills 20 kids with the sharpened edge of a Call of Duty game disk, or beats them to death with an Xbox controller, this is a non-discussion. A representation of a thing is not the thing, which is the fundamental difference between violence in art and actual violence, or sex in art and pornography.

Hm. I don't know if I quite see it. I think the image you've got below is an early concept as well. I've got the in-game Morrigan stuck in my head, and she looked pretty different.

I'm afraid to ask, but I will. Is that what I think it is?

I think it's a mostly manufacturing-side arrangement. I only know a little about it, but there are several hundred companies in northern Spain that work together in this very interesting way. I don't know if it would-cross apply to game development specifically, but when you think about it, why not? Especially with

Right. Because, at the end of it all, even if he fucks up, loses money for the company, and has to lay off thousands of people, he still walks away with a truckful of money. But yeah, totally, poor him.

Why not try the Mondragon model? CEOs make no more than 6 times what their employees make; when layoffs happen, they move the workers to another company that retrains them to work in a new industry. Of course, it's been in place for decades (at least) in northern Spain, and is kind of a culturaly tradition now. Who

It's really not at all clear what he does that "adds value," aside from screwing developers out of profits that they deserve a share of, because they helped the company earn them. If you don't remember what I'm talking about, see the litigation involving Infinity Ward cofounders versus Activision. This is the problem

Not many: A-Rod makes about $30 million a year, and all of that is in actual money. (Also, this is just his salary from the Yankees, he makes even more through endorsements, if he still has any—he might not, though, because he seems like such an epic asshole.) Nevertheless, it makes me sick to see Kotick make that

This is not a good year for games. Holy shit. Can anyone tell me if it's always this crazy in game development, or is this a new trend of complete mismanagement and collapse?

Why the obligatory Kinect? It just doens't make any sense. Is it so they can spy on my playing games in my underwear? That's it, right?

God, that Hawaiian shirt is really...veiny looking.

I feel bad for the people who actually wanted this thing. I wouldn't want to spend a half a second inside their minds.

I had a blast playing it, and you should be able to get it used for relatively cheap.

I think it has more to do with branding. Most firearms manufacturers make a range of weapons. Look, for instance, at the G-18, which was in MW 2. It's not legal for me to purchase, but Glock makes a lot of other firearms I can go into a gun shop and walk out with, probably by this afternoon. Now I've played MW 2 and

Woah. Christina Hendricks can give side-eye while looking right at you almost as well as Nina Garcia can.
