I have quite a bit of respect for Carmack, he's a technical genius in the industry (Even though atm I don't feel VR goggles are going to be a thing for me, it doesn't lower my respect any), a fair portion of the older games I love run on the engines he created. You basically just said what I did. CPU isn't important if the emulator is really good and the code understood well. If not, then it requires more power.

A decent i7 could likely do the job just fine.

I've heard some say Intel is the best way to run more modern emulators, esp Dolphin. I run a i5 2550k (stock clocks) and a geforce 660 ti (factory overclocked) with 8Gb's of ram and I've had no trouble running games that wasn't attributed to the emulator itself not doing so.

Except there's one problem, unless you're a geneticist it's going to be impossible to determine their chromosome count, it's sadly not as narrow as just XY and XX. Some people have more then just those 2. Some men are XXY, some women are XYY. There's actually quite a few variations in humans.
