Sony has only been releasing info more recently, especially through the recent Q&A, a lot of stuff would have been nice to know earlier (and is possible to have been told earlier).

This is likely true, but unlike Microsoft, Sony has waited until late (and the pre-orders are in!) before revealing a lot of stuff for the console. So they'll already have shifted some units, and perhaps less urgency to implement the change requested by the consumer.

Really? I love Metro UI! Looks sleek, nice and consistent! I don't really use the apps much but I like using oblytile and making programs, playlist and game shortcuts. Neither system will consistently run games at 1080p, at least around launch time. There are a lot of growing pains associated with generational transitions. That shouldn't be your primary concern. They'll both pan out in the long run.
