I tip my hat to you fine sir. This is easily the best use of that image macro I've seen since

I really wish you were right, but only because that would mean that VNC would offer complex, application-optimized, lag-free, multi-touch based, contextual interaction and manipulation of your desktop machine and its' content...

The first two things that came to my mind:

Amen brother.

Which is what I acknowledged in my post and what I consider to have been a breakthrough approach when it was first applied to large screens and other fixed installations since moving them wasn't an option.

Confound you faceless commenter!

There aren't many things that I end up actually preferring to be wrong about, but identifying perceived ignorance is definitely one of them. So thanks for your help =)

While it's a novel proof-of-concept, I don't see much reason for it, considering how you can achieve almost the same effect on any device with motion / orientation sensors and/or a gyroscope. This would tie the response to the device and not the user's relative position to it, which is likely to be the more desirable

Wow, talk about making myself looking like an ass and even using a sensitive subject to do so.

"Approved for depression, but impractical for less serious illnesses or enhancement until equipment becomes more portable."

I don't disagree with the man's theory, but I think that any technological advance big enough to notably add to a civilization's cosmic noise output, would much more relevantly increase the likelihood of said civilization wiping itself out in some kind of self-made planetary catastrophe. Which is a point I consider to

At some point in the early 90's my father brought home a 14.4K modem and the first thing he introduced me to was "Worlds Away" and accessing stuff using keywords.

Somehow I'm having a hard time trying to picture this app's target user base, but maybe they just aren't a very ... vocal minority.

He's on the payroll, but his position isn't specified beyond simply being employed in the company.

"this doesn't sound like something common enough to"

Like probably a lot of people do at some points in their lives, I too have played out various hypothetical scenarios in my head based around the idea of the government being shut down.

The problem with Woz is that he can't say "No comment.", or at least he could probably never leave it at just. He's almost compulsively vocal regardless of topic.

The craftiness reminds me of a certain kind of iPhone knockoff from Russia that at least to the casual observer it could be considered as "convincing". But the real magic was that when you held the power button, the screen would light up, remain black for a bit, then display the Apple logo and after another pause

I remember picking up a generic knock-off thumbdrive for like, 5 bucks just for fun because it was proudly boasting a sparkling logo advertising something like 600 GB of storage space. I asked the guy running the "shop" and explained how knew nothing about computers and how I never knew you could fit so much space on

Mainly scaling text and the virtual page turning. Try reading a multi-page document with tight lettering, if you zoom in close enough to read, it's almost impossible to not lose the row you were in scrolling back to the left and in both cases of scrolling left OR right, good luck not accidentally reaching the end of
