It was directed by David Leitch who also helped in making the first John Wick movie. Now he did the smart thing by creating a movie that can stand alone with no cliffhanger. However, not only did he wanted to make a sequel based on the success of Atomic Blonde, but also wants to have her cross over into John Wick.

I personally believe extenuating circumstances on the release of the film, the timing, and the overall bad luck given the situation is why Black Widow may be viewed not as a financial juggernaut as they were hoping/expecting it to be.

It was a stand alone episode that did a decent job of writing off a character. So what will be next for Carlos Valdes? Will he be the next Bond bad guy? Be a Marvel man? The next Mandalorian?
