A shame the paid expansion packs will likely be delayed, but waiting isn’t such a bad thing... especially if they can work NG+ into one of the bug fix patches.

If you think this review badly misses the context of what the game is actually trying to be, I invite you to read the Gamespot review for an even worse example.
I bounced off the previous two Watch Dogs games but I’ve been really enjoying Legion. Of course I was drawn in by the ‘play as anyone’ feature. For me the ‘scares’ wore off very quickly. The game has kept me coming back by being one of the best fps co op games around. With some more polish I’d put it up there with stealth Payday 2 missions and Left 4 Dead.
I dropped this game a couple hours in. It just wasn’t any good. And comparing the gameplay to Dark Souls in any way is just far too generous.
I feel you. I’m having trouble getting excited for this one. Really, I just want them to localize Isshin.
Finally, an excuse for a fifth playthrough.
What a ridiculous question. I’m really not sure if you’re trolling, describing reading game reviews as “going out of your way to get everyone else’s opinion.” Do you really need someone to explain the concepts of reviews to you? I guess we would have to start with the concepts of “time” and “money.”
Fair enough. But for me, the gameplay in the first one was pretty dull on its own. I’ll play MGS or Hitman 2 for quality stealth gameplay. The story and characters are what kept me engaged and stuck with me from the Last of Us.
I assume you saw SkillUp’s review on YouTube? Great, critical review. The comparisons to G0T season 8 and the new Star Wars trilogy were big red flags that helped convince me to cancel that pre-order.
On a side note, I’m particularly annoyed that they lied about not having to kill any dogs except by choice. They intentionally made a misery simulator; why lie about that little detail? The misleading marketing is really baffling to me.
I cancelled my pre-order after I read the Kotaku and Polygon reviews. They confirmed for me that the leaks were true (which was already obvious of course) and that “context” was only going to make the over the top brutality even more pointless. Thank you guys for actually taking a critical look at the game.
Is there a phone setting to stop the spread of COVID-19? No? Then don’t go.
Can’t we just enjoy something nice for once this year? Guess not. Well played, Sony.
And it never will be the most important thing in the world. Never. Is that the bar it has to clear? Are we not allowed to enjoy anything again until the world’s problems are solved? Because that’s gonna be a while.
So we all have to put our lives on hold until the world isn’t a fucked up place? And when will that be? When will be the right time? Just release the damn season and stop pretending to give a shit about anything but profit, Activision.
The game itself looks mediocre. The graphics look no better than anything you can get on a relatively high end pc. Overall meh.
Yep. He went and did it again...
Agreed. They shouldn’t have marketed this as a remake if they were going to do that at the end. That was deceptive.
